Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services of Halton is a not-for-profit organization and is currently recruiting new members to join the Fundraising Committee. Share your time and talent to plan and implement fundraising events! Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of the month from 7-9PM.

Incredibowl Committee Volunteers
Do you dream of a world without violence and want to create a safer Halton community? Do you have amazing organizational skills, want to develop your project management skills or love to connect with others? We need your help!
We are looking for some Incredibowl individuals to volunteer to participate on SAVIS’s Incredibowl committee. Incredibowl is SAVIS’s primary fundraiser and it helps to build awareness for our services in the community. Our 5th annual 10-pin bowling event will take place on Saturday, April 16th, 2011 from 2-5pm at Burlington Bowl.
We need help with:
- Recruiting teams & building community spirit
- Connecting with amazing companies in Halton to attract Sponsors
- Co-ordinating the Silent Auction and requesting prizes
- Building relationships with local politicians, to help develop our Souvenir Event Program
- Spreading the Word about this family friendly, fun-filled event
You can be a full fledged committee member or simply help out in specific areas that fit your area of expertise and the amount of time you have to offer.

In the 2009-2010 fiscal year SAVIS’s kind staff and caring volunteers served the community through:
One of the biggest challenges SAVIS faces is chronic underfunding which leads to understaffing and waiting lists. That’s why this year we’re getting a head start on planning Incredibowl 2011!

Board of Directors
This is an opportunity for any woman who lives or works in the Region of Halton and would like an opportunity give back to the community.
The Board of Directors is the legal authority for SAVIS. As a member of the Board a Director acts in a position of trust for the community, is responsible for the effective governance of SAVIS and havs the following duties:
-To attend and be prepared for monthly board meetings.
-To prepare for and participate in the discussions and the deliberations of the Board.
-To be informed and accountable to the funders for the services provided and funds expended.
-To actively participate in at least one board level sub-committee.
-To foster a positive working relationship with other Board members, and SAVIS staff.
-To establish overall long and short term goals, objectives and priorities for SAVIS in meeting the needs of the community.
-To be informed of the services provided by SAVIS and publicly support them.
