Halton celebrates National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, 2010

The "Cheers to Volunteers" initiative provides you with an opportunity to recognize the important contributions of volunteers within your organization and to celebrate National Volunteer Week, April 18th - 24th, 2010. Nominations are open to all non-profit, voluntary and grassroots organizations in Halton!

Ceremonies: All recipients will receive their award at the Volunteers Recognition Breakfast hosted by Volunteer Halton in partnership with Halton Region.

Community Volunteer Awards

Recognize a community volunteer from your organization who has made a significant contribution to the quality of life of Halton residents. Nominations are open to all non-profit, voluntary and grassroots organizations in Halton!

The FLARE Volunteer Awards

The FLARE Volunteer Awards has celebrated the importance of volunteerism in Canada for 13 years. Get Involved! Help an outstanding female volunteer receive the recognition she deserves.

Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers (OMYV)

The Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers - presented to young volunteers between the ages of 15 and 24. (Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration)

PRO Awards (Parks and Recreation Ontario)

The Parks and Recreation Ontario Awards Program includes awards for members, communities, individuals, students and local groups. 
These awards recognize the outstanding achievements and extraordinary commitments of park and recreation professionals and organizations in providing services and programs. Winning an individual or agency award is a testament to the dedication and commitment put in to making Ontario communities a better place to live.and play!

The awards are announced at the Annual PRO Educational Forum in front of colleagues from across the province and in the community as well.

Lieutenant Governor's Community Volunteer Award for Students

Lieutenant Governor's Community Volunteer Award for Students - is given to a graduating student from each of Ontario's secondary schools, and honours those students who not only complete the number of volunteer hours required to graduate, but who go above and beyond.
